The Ebro (Spanish and Basque [ˈeβɾo] ; Catalan: Ebre, Western: [ˈeβɾe], Eastern: [ˈeβɾə]) is a river of the north and northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, in Spain. It rises in Cantabria and flows 930 kilometres (580 mi), almost entirely in an east-southeast direction. It flows into the Mediterranean Sea, forming a delta in the Terres de l'Ebre region, in southern Catalonia. In the Iberian peninsula, it ranks second in length after the Tagus and second in discharge volume, and drainage basin, after the Douro. It is the longest river entirely within Spain; the other two mentioned flow into Portugal.

The Ebro flows through many cities (Spanish: ciudades): Reinosa in Cantabria; Frías and Miranda de Ebro in Castile and León; Haro, Logroño, Calahorra, and Alfaro in La Rioja; Tudela in Navarre; Alagón, Utebo, and Zaragoza in Aragon; and Flix, Móra d'Ebre, Benifallet, Tivenys, Xerta, Aldover, Tortosa, and Amposta in the province of Tarragona (Catalonia).

Tarragona (Spanish: [taraˈɣona]; Catalan: [tərəˈɣonə]) is a province of eastern Spain, in the southern part of the autonomous community of Catalonia. It is bordered by the provinces of Castellón, Teruel, Zaragoza, Lleida and Barcelona and by the Mediterranean Sea.

The province's population is 795,902 (2018), about one fifth of whom live in the capital, Tarragona. Some of the larger cities and towns in Tarragona province include Reus, Salou, El Vendrell, Tortosa, Valls, Amposta. This province has 183 municipalities. Amposta in the context of Pont de l'Olivar

The Pont de l'Olivar is a bridge across the Sénia River in Spain. The northern side is in the municipality of Ulldecona, comarca of Montsià, province of Tarragona and autonomous community of Catalonia. The southern side is in the municipality of Vinaròs, comarca of Baix Maestrat, province of Castellón and autonomous community of Valencia. The bridge is included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia [ca].

The GR 92 long distance footpath, which roughly follows the length of the Mediterranean coast of Spain, uses the bridge to cross from Catalonia to Valencia. Stage 31 of the Catalonian section of the path links northwards to Amposta, a distance of 25.4 kilometres (15.8 mi). The section of the GR 92 in Valencia has not yet been fully defined or way marked.
