Administrative divisions of Arkhangelsk Oblast in the context of Victoria Island (Russian Arctic)

Novaya Zemlya, also spelled Novaja Zemlja, is an archipelago in northern Russia. It is situated in the Arctic Ocean, in the extreme northeast of Europe, with Cape Flissingsky, on the northern island, considered the easternmost point of Europe. To Novaya Zemlya's west lies the Barents Sea and to the east is the Kara Sea.

Novaya Zemlya consists of two main islands, the northern Severny Island and the southern Yuzhny Island, which are separated by the Matochkin Strait. Administratively, it is incorporated as Novaya Zemlya District, one of the twenty-one in Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia. Municipally, it is incorporated as Novaya Zemlya Urban Okrug.

Mezensky District (Russian: Мезе́нский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia. As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Mezensky Municipal District. It is located in the northeast of the oblast and borders with Nenets Autonomous Okrug in the northeast, Ust-Tsilemsky District of the Komi Republic in the east, Leshukonsky and Pinezhsky Districts in the south, and with Primorsky District in the southwest. From the north, the district borders the White Sea. The area of the district is 34,400 square kilometers (13,300 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Mezen. Population: 10,330 (2010 census); 13,124 (2002 census); 17,796 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Mezen accounts for 34.6% of the total district's population.

Solovetsky District (Russian: Солове́цкий райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia. It is located on the Solovetsky Islands archipelago in the White Sea. Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Solovetsky. District's population: 861 (2010 census); 968 (2002 census); 1,317 (1989 Soviet census).

Kholmogorsky District (Russian: Холмого́рский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia. Municipally, it is incorporated as Kholmogorsky Municipal District. It is located in the center of the oblast and borders with Pinezhsky District in the east, Vinogradovsky District in the southeast, the territory of the town of oblast significance of Mirny in the south, Plesetsky District in the southwest, and with Primorsky District in the northwest. The area of the district is 16,827 square kilometers (6,497 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Kholmogory. District's population: 25,061 (2010 census); 30,797 (2002 census); 35,891 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Kholmogory accounts for 16.6% of the district's total population.
